I had a request from a client for a viewable handheld VR version of this for a premium offering to schools. Anyone have an idea if the technology for even a simple VR headset can be modified for a viewer app? We could call it "View - VR" or something similar to take advantage of the press for this.
I'll let you marketing people come up with the name, but I think this could be a great idea if we could get this packaged for under $149.99 retail. My client has already requested orders in the tens of thousands if we could get this done by the end of the year. Re: Re: Mattel Press Release

Based on my limited understanding of the technology, the VR headset CAN be modified for a viewer app. The question is, of course, a matter of cost and potential returns. Has anyone considered running updated financial models on the "View - VR" idea assuming a $149.99 retail price? Based on preliminary models I saw a few months back, we might have a winner here...and the returns should easily exceed our cost of capital.
