You know this concerns me. We should have a meeting with the PR, Marketing, and Sales staff since we spent over $3.4 million in the last quarter alone on these types promotional gigs and not a single bit of exposure in the press. Instead of 1,000 little unremarkable promotions, maybe we should do the same and place most of our eggs in one basket?
Anyone have feedback? It's riskier, but we are not earning the ROI on this stuff as we should be. Re: Re: Hasbro Press Release

You may be right on not earning the expected ROI on our current promotional/ad schemes. I frankly think our "expected ROI" was far too optimistic. Based on the metrics I have seen, our ad/promotional spending has been cut by over 30% and so far this year, revenues are up 9%. I can think of very few years in my lifetime as an employee when this has been the case.
I don't mean to say that our spending should not be optimized. I would, however, ask that we keep a realistic perspective on what possible returns might be before we "put our eggs in one basked". |
